A master of adaptation, the brown bear is able to live in all climatic zones, from the northernmost to the southernmost latitudes, from the high mountains to the steppe. The brown bear is so strong that it has no natural predators. And yet, in most of its former range, the brown bear has now disappeared. In addition to the fragmentation of its habitats by traffic routes, the main threats to the brown bear’s survival come from poaching and excessive legal shooting.
Together with partner organisations in the countries concerned, EuroNatur is working to effectively protect brown bears and to preserve their valuable habitats. To do this, we urgently need donations!
With a bear sponsorship, you can help us to protect the habitats and basic food resources of endangered bear populations. You can help make it possible for rangers to patrol and monitor protected areas, and much more.

Less poaching
Since bear rangers have begun patrolling the Cantabrian Mountains in northern Spain, life has been made much more difficult for poachers. Close cooperation with the Spanish environmental police has proven particularly valuable and effective.
More food for bears
Together with our partners, we have planted wild fruit and chestnut trees. As a result, bears in the west of the Cantabrian Mountains are now able to find a lot more food.
Bridges for bears
Crossing aids such as green bridges enable bears to cross existing traffic routes unharmed. Together with its partners, EuroNatur has already been able to bring about the installation of numerous green bridges across motorways.
